Putting our armed forces at the heart of community healthcare
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) has outlined its commitment to improving access to services and becoming an armed forces friendly employer by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.
Chief Executive Mairead McCormick was joined by the Royal British Legion, senior managers, members of the trusts armed forces network and Liz, carer to her veteran husband at the signing.
Liz shared her own personal journey of using NHS services as both her and her veteran husband juggled both physical and mental ill health. Liz said: “I was absolutely delighted to attend the signing of the covenant and came away feeling very positive and confident of the trust’s commitment to the armed forces.”
The pledges outlined in the covenant form a written commitment from the trust to support colleagues connected to the armed forces as well as those who need to use their services.
Developed alongside their Armed Forces Community Staff Network, human resources and engagement team, the pledges will be reviewed annually.
The trust’s Armed Forces Network includes veterans, families of those serving and allies who are committed to helping make the trust an armed forces friendly employer.
